The launch meeting of the U-CROSS project, led by CIDETEC, took place on October 10 at the Dassault Aviation facilities in Paris.
The U-CROSS project, “Early detection and progress monitoring and prediction of corrosion in aeronautic Al alloys through calibrated Ultrasonic CorROSion Sensors application”, is part of the H2020-Clean Sky 2 program and has a duration of three years.
The main objective of U-CROSS is to design, develop and validate the application of ultrasonic corrosion sensors (UCS), combining passive (Acoustic Emission) and active (Pulse Echo Ultrasonic Testing) types, for corrosion monitoring, enabling them for real time detection of early stages of localized corrosion as well as for monitoring the progress of damages with time.
On behalf of CIDETEC Surface Engineering, Dr. Jorge Rodríguez and Dr. Jesús Manuel Vega attended the meeting.
