The roundtable was conducted by Dr. Ana Benito, a researcher of the Unit Biomaterials at CIDETEC together with Covadonga Pañeda (Director of R & D Sylentis), Simon Bacconier (Transnational Access coordinator at the EU Lab for characterization in nanomedicine), Iraida Loinaz (Health BDM at CIDETEC), Eusebio Gainza (Director of R & D BioPraxis Research) and Justin Barry (MD at Midatech Pharma).
BioSpain is the largest event in the biotechnology sector in Spain and is organized by ASEBIO, the Spanish association of the biotechnology industry. The eighth edition was held from 28 to 30 September at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) and brought together about 30 countries, including the United States as a guest.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Economic Development and Competitiveness, Arantxa Tapia, as well as the president of Asebio, Jordi Martí; the commercial attache of the US Embassy in Spain, Keith Silver; the CEO of the Institute of Foreign Trade, Francisco Javier Garzón; and the Secretary General of Health, José Javier Castrodeza.
